Relieve Sunburn, Treat Heartburn, With These Home Remedies
You’ll be surprised to know that some of your things at home can be used for a bunch of other purposes. Home remedies are popular because these are easily available, convenient to use, and generally cheaper than other commercial options. Effectiveness may vary on a case-to-case basis but it won’t hurt to give it a try.
Here are some very useful tips for home remedies:
1. Relieve sunburn with black tea bags
You might have forgotten to lather on some sunscreen while at the beach and now you have a nasty, hot, and stinging sunburn. Get a bag of black tea, wet the bag, and press the tea bag on burnt areas of your skin. Antioxidants in black tea work miracles.
2. Say goodbye to heartburn with baking soda
Highly acidic food can trigger heartburn (samples: coffee, soda, high-fat dairy). Drink a mix of baking soda, lemon juice, honey, and water to drive the pain away. Have a bottle of this ready in case you’re getting frequent heartburn.
3. Super Glue To Heal Paper Cuts
Paper cuts are little things that hurt a lot. To heal and seal shallow cuts, use super glue. This contains the same ingredients as the ones found in hospital glues.
4. Get rid of warts using duct tape.
Here’s an inexpensive way to kill warts: use duct tape. Cut a strip of duct tape with the size same as the size of your wart. Cover your wart for 6 days and replace tape as needed. After 6 days, take the tape off and soak the affected area in water. Next, gently rub the wart with pumice stone. Continue the procedure until the wart comes off.
5. VapoRub for Toenail Fungus
Treat toenail fungus with Vicks VapoRub. Based on studies, the thyme component of Vicks helps treat fungus. Here’s another tip: add a drop of tea tree oil. Use a cotton swab to apply Vicks and tea tree oil to the affected nail. Do this daily until you see the affected part of the nail growing out.
